This isn’t the Midwest.
We don’t have tornado outbreaks here, not like this.
25 confirmed tornadoes, maybe more before it’s all said and done, for my home state on Saturday. You can see just how close to the action I was above. The tornado in Rowan County (just to the right of where I live – Mooresville, NC – Iredell County) is probably a 30-40 minute drive.
Too close for comfort.
We had wicked weather here. I kept waiting to see hail and was surprised I never did. I’d left in the AM for the YMCA with the kids, had no idea just how dicey it had gotten outside, but found out on my way home. The wind was fierce, the rain was pounding and there was that kind of black sky that makes you feel like you’re going to be sucked up in it. Well, that was quite literal in NC no Saturday.
You can see a video here of what happened to a Raleigh area Lowe’s Home Improvement store…
As of yesterday, there are 21 confirmed deaths as a result of the tornado outbreak we experience Saturday.
We were very fortunate not to have any lasting damage from the storm. This is the 3rd crazy strong storm we’ve had so far this year. I hope this is not a sign of things to come this spring.
