Hello. My name is Jamie and I hoard craft supplies.

Do you ever feel like you belong on an episode of Hoarders?  Sometimes I look around and think “compared to those people, my house looks amazing!”.  Then I open the door to my hall closet and I’m attacked by an avalanche of random craft supplies – many of which haven’t seen the light of day since they came home from the store – and suddenly feel like Monica on that episode of Friends.

Or, maybe Fred Sanford.

The amount of craft supplies in that closet is ridiculous.  Completely and utterly ridiculous.  Just a few of the gems hidden inside…

An unglazed ceramic cookie jar – I bought it 4 or 5 years ago.  There was a buy one get one sale at the place I used to go every week to paint pottery.  It was clearly a habit I have grown out of.

A HUGE package of wooden clothes pins – I sincerely hope the only reason I bought a pack of clothes pins that big was because it was the smallest I could find.  I have no idea what their purpose was.

Spray Adhesive – I bought it for one craft project or another.  It’s never been used.

Knitting needles – I said I was going to learn to knit.  I still haven’t.

A scrapbooking tote full of goodies – The last page I scrapped was before I had a second child.  Cullen is 4.

And then there are the non-craft supply craft supplies…

Toilet paper rolls, empty Laughing Cow cheese containers, baby wipe containers (we’ve been done with diapers here for quite a while) and such.

There’s also my fabric stash.  That’s neatly folded and draped over pant hangers in my closet.  And my sewing machine and serger.  Also batting, bias tape, thread for days, quilting pins, rotary cutters… I can keep going.

I’ve spent the last two weeks telling myself “tomorrow, I’m going to craft something”.  And, yet I don’t.  I’ll blame it on my disorganization and my lack of desire to dig through that dang closet to find the pieces to put together a project.  I think I’d rather go troll the aisles of the local craft store and see what catches my.

And, what will probably end up in the closet.

Are you a hoarder of craft supplies?  Is there a support group?  What’s the weirdest thing you’ve stashed away to craft with?

Oh, I have SO many card supplies! I finally parted ways with my die cut machine, after it was completely ignored for two years. Such a hoarder. Thanks for stopping by!
