Doin’ the Boogie Woogie

The family and I are enjoying a stressful relaxing week in Oak Island, North Carolina this week.  We’ve been coming to Oak Island since 2003 and it is by far our favorite Carolina beach.  This year we brought some of my family with us:  My mom, step-dad, sister and nephew.
If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen the video I posted last night of my son’s first encounter with the ocean.  It was awesome, in a ‘my kid is apparently terrified by the ocean’ sort of way.  Day two was also filled with clinging, ‘I don’t like it’ water terrification.  But the girl, she is a different story.
Lots of things scare Addison, but the ocean isn’t one of them.  Not at all.  I apparently gave birth to a fish.  This is Addison’s third trip to the beach and you’d think we lived at the coast.  This year, Pawpaw Ronnie brought a boogie board and has been teaching Addison how to ride it.  Now, she’s not JC Little or anything, but I was impressed.
