The scale hasn’t moved as much as I would’ve liked in the last few weeks.  Some of that is my fault and some of it is just the nature of this stage of my journey.  There have been bites of this or that, just a taste here and there.  The results of that are evident.

I’ve tried not to be too hung up on the numbers on the scale alone, but that is hard for me.  I’ve officially hit the ‘normal’ part of the BMI scale and my jeans have shrunk to a size 6.  I’ve never worn a size 6.  My once large and extra-large shirts are now mediums, and even some of those are loose around the middle.

I still feel fat.  I still see all of my lumps and bumps.  I’m still very critical of myself and my body.  There’s no amount of people telling me how great I look that will ever change that.  That part of me is broken and I will have to fix it – no one else can do it for me.

I’m working on it.

I’ve started to enjoy shopping a little – which is very weird for me… shopping has always been something I’ve hated.  I’m spending a small fortune on clothes, and for once, I’m ok with it.  I can’t explain how awesome it is to see something on a rack I want to try on and not have to worry about whether or not they make it in a 12 or 14.  Actually, being in the dressing room with a size 8 and having to have the sales person bring me a size 6… it was euphoric.

So, what’s next?  At this point, I am 8 pounds… 8 tiny little pounds… away from my goal of 135.  Once I hit 135, I will start a transition phase (which I’ll cover more later) that will last about 6 weeks.  And I will keep weighing every week.  I have to be accountable to myself – and I will keep updating here periodically so that I am accountable to you as well.
