It’s The Simple Things: Life Passes In An Instagram – Week 1

It’s a new year full of new challenges and experiences!  This year I’m combining two of my favorite photography projects: The Simple Things and Project 366 – Life Passes in an Instagram.  Trying to keep up with posting pictures for Project 366 every day is too much for me, plus the things I’m ‘Instagramming’ are my simple things.

Check out the uber cute piggy banks Jason’s aunt Kaye had made for the kids.  Each has their name on the back and they are original, one of a kinds! (Sunday – Jan 1)

Cullen’s goal in life is to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.  The world may never know.  Just like the owl from the 1980’s commercial, Cullen can’t seem to make it through without just biting in. (Monday – Jan 2)

The weather has been so up and down here.  Monday was coldish, so I decided to make some homemade chicken noodle soup.  It’s super simple and even starts with frozen chicken! (Monday – Jan 2)

Last Tuesday morning was pretty darn cold.  Well, cold for here.  Really, isn’t anything under 32 just too cold?  (Tuesday – Jan 3)

By the afternoon, it had only warmed up to 33.  Technically not freezing, but still pretty darn cold.  (Tuesday – Jan 3)

There’s this feather that is always laying beside our building at work.  No matter how much the wind blows, the feather is always there.  (Tuesday – Jan 3)

The girl had a well-check on Wednesday.  Cullen passed the time in the waiting room by reading People’s Sexiest Men issue. (Wednesday – Jan 4)

I always try to end my Wednesdays with a trip to yoga.  An hour of yoga is exhausting, but makes me feel so good! (Wednesday – Jan 4)

See… still there.  (Thursday – Jan 5)

My brothers and my kids love to play together.  From left – My brother Joe (7), my daughter Addison (5), my brother Joel (4) and my son Cullen (2). (Thursday – Jan 5)

This is one of our first babies.  They really were our babies before we had kids.  This old girl is almost 11.  She’s almost completely blind.  Her favorite thing to do is lay in the mulch in the kids play area in the backyard.  It doesn’t matter how cold it is, we almost always have to make her come inside.  Friday was pretty nice, so getting her inside meant actually going out and picking her up.  (Friday – Jan 6)

After school and an hour at dance, we trekked to my mom’s house Friday afternoon to set up her new printer and add some software for photo management.  The kids were both pretty patient about it.  Addison grabbed a few books and ‘read’ while she waited. She ended up sleeping over.  (Friday – Jan 6)

Cullen enjoyed his alone time Saturday morning.  He likes having a little peace without his sister.  He’s channeling his inner Tim Taylor.  (Saturday – Jan 7)

I rounded out my first week of January with a little alone time of my own… A solo dinner at Salsarita’s and a trip to Target.  Yay for Tarjay!  (Saturday – Jan 7)

The more people participate in both projects, the more fun they will be, so join us!  And, I hope you’ll stick around to see what the second week of January has in store for us…
