Let Your Great Taste Shine: Simply Cranberry Red, White and Blueberry Summer Cocktail

July 4th is creeping up on us, so today I have a cocktail recipe – perfect for the 4th of July – and a little (rather big) giveaway for you…
My daughter (5) is a little fashionista.  She expresses herself and her style through clothing and accessories.  We can’t walk by a Gymboree or Children’s Place store without her trying to con me into a new headband, necklace or purse.  She has enough sass and pizazz for two little divas
My husband is a music lover, and you can often tell how he feels by what he’s listening to.  He loves to talk about new bands he’s heard or who’s coming to town.  He obviously thinks his taste in music in great, though I often disagree.
I prefer to express myself and share my tastes through food.  I enjoy cooking and creating things, and while they don’t always turn out as planned, part of draw is the creating and sharing part of cooking.  A friend asked today why I blog.  When I started this blog, it was more for me, or at least that’s what I though.  As it turns out, it’s really more of channel for me to share my taste for food, family, photography and fun with all of you.  It’s my way to let my great taste shine.
Whether it’s at home, at work, at school or online, we all have our own ways of letting our great taste shine.
Today, I’m going to let my Simply Cranberry Red, White and Blueberry Cocktail shine.

What you need:

8 oz Simply Cranberry Cocktail
12 oz can Sprite
4 oz Vodka
1/4 cup Blueberries
4 Sprigs Mint

Do before hand:

Mash the blueberries well and mix them with 1/2 cup of water.

Divide the blueberry mixture evenly between 4 ice molds or pour it evenly into an ice cube tray and freeze.

Repeat the same procedure for freezing the Simply Cranberry Cocktail.

When you’re ready to serve:

Using 4 glasses or jars, evenly divide both the frozen cranberry and blueberry cubes evenly.  Add 1 ounce of vodka and 3 ounces of Sprite per glass.  To make larger drinks, either double the ingredients or cut back to 2 glasses!

As the fruit cubes melt, the flavor of the drink changes!  Initially, you get more of the cranberry flavor, but the longer it sits, the more of the blueberry flavor comes through.  The mint springs add a hint of little something extra.

So, now that I’ve shared a drink, let’s share some goodies!

The fantastic folks over at Simply Orange (makers of Simply Cranberry Cocktail) have offered up an awesome prize package valued at $150 for one lucky reader!  I received one for myself and it’s SO awesome!

My style shines by however I wear by hair that day. If it’s down and wild, then I’m probably having a crazy day, and if it’s neat and up I’m probably well put together that day.
