Almost two years ago or so, I did a little project called Life In An Instagram. It was fun for a good while and then I got bored or busy, I’m not sure which. At any rate, almost a year ago, I stopped sharing my Instagram life here. I decided this week to pick the project back up again, so without further adieu…
TypeACon had my attention pretty much all week last week. I’ve been so busy since getting home that I haven’t really had the time to write up a recap (but I will soon). What I have been doing since I got home late last Sunday is working (I’m back to full-time in the office) and spending time with the kids. They’ve clearly missed me. One of my bring-homes from TypeACon was this super cool game that we had the chance to play at one of our sponsored functions. It’s called Boom Boom Balloon. Add it to your kid’s Christmas list, people. This game is seriously fun, and seriously easy! If you can count to 3, you’re golden. Monday night, the kids couldn’t stand not opening it, so we spent a little quality time together on the edge of our seats.
By Tuesday evening, I was back on the social scene. The outing was a work event/charity function and just a great time. It would have been even better if I had recovered from the weekend first, which I had not. I was exhausted. I actually considered napping at our table at one point. That probably wouldn’t have been my best idea, but it seemed like a pretty swell one at the time.
While I was out
passing out on tables living it up Tuesday night, a packaged arrived for me at home. I didn’t have a chance to dig into it until Wednesday, but I was thrilled to see it was my TypeACon Swag Bag from our sponsor, The CVS Minute Clinic. So many people fly to conferences, and Minute Clinic didn’t want us to have to deal with getting our swag home, so they just shipped it to us. Sweet! As you can see from my Insta-share, it was full of awesome full-size products. I think I’m already addicted to the Aveeno BB Creme.
Thursday wasn’t very exciting, but Friday night was more quality time with the kids. As I mentioned earlier this week, we’re working hard on the quality verse quantity thing when it comes to the time we spend with the kids, especially as my time has become extremely limited with the additional hours at work. The boy wanted to go out on the patio, well after his normal bedtime, and cuddle on the cat that lives at our house that isn’t really ours (that’s a story for another day). I took a picture of him and the cat, and in turn he wanted to take one of me. For a 4 year old wielding an iPhone in the dark, I think he did pretty darn good!
For everything Thursday lacked, we made I made up for it on Saturday. Saturday was our annual trip to the Cleveland County fair. No, we do not live in Cleveland County. It’s actually about an hour and a half drive for us. My mother-in-law lives there though, and the Hubs and I have been going to the fair there pretty much every year since we started dating. The kids love, love, love the fair. There was ice cream, rides, games and general running a muck. There was also dinner with my mother-in-law (whom I adore) and three hours in the car with two not-great car riders.
