What a week! That’s about all I can say when I think back on the week as a whole. I witness the end of a horrible car accident Monday, followed by seeing at least one car accident of some sort every day for the rest of the week. Monday’s was still by far the worse. It’s the only time in my life that I’ve ever watched honest to God CPR in action. I wish it had been enough. That has clouded my thoughts all week, but looking back through my Instagram feed, there were certainly plenty of much, much better parts…
Sunday night, after a long day, I remembered that we wouldn’t have a chance to carve our pumpkins before Halloween unless we got them done before bed. So, what’s a mom to do? I threw out some trash bags to cover the table and brought those suckers in. Everyone opted for simple jack-o-lantern faces this year (thank goodness – I was tired!).
Monday, well I already told you what Monday was like. I wanted to do nothing Monday evening but crawl into bed and sleep. Sleep and have dreams about how grateful I am to be alive.
Tuesday was better. I sat around Tuesday evening, post Girl Scouts, making Rainbow Loom bracelets. Yes, I bought it for the girl. Yes, I am a grown woman. No, I don’t care what anyone thinks of me. Yes, that particular bracelet is mine, mine, MINE.
I have a wonderful friend, who happens to work in my office (we were friends first, then became co-workers) and happens to drive right by my neighborhood to get to work every morning. We carpool. It’s awesome. I do take my turn with driving, but as it happened Wednesday, she was driving and I had the chance to snap this picture on our way home. Aren’t the trees gorgeous?
The obligatory Halloween picture. Candy, craziness and all that jazz.
The boy crawled up in my chair, the back of my chair (via way of the couch) and just as I was about to get irritated (hanging on my chair is a never ending battle here), little dude said ‘Mommy, I’m going to give you a back rub.’ And then I felt bad for being irritated. For a 4 year old, he gives a pretty good back rub.
Saturday means errands. On the list, get the boy a haircut. Which conveniently happened to be located by a Starbucks. I was surprised to see that the holiday cups (and flavors) are already out in full force. We’re apparently completely ignoring the turkey this year.
This happened today. Oh yes. I didn’t eat any of them though (see: this). From what I’m being told (and I had a whole army of taste-testers (ok…4)), they are amazing. That’s good – especially since I’ll be sharing the recipe with you later this week.
What do you think about Instagram? Clearly, I love it and I’d love for you to join me there. Want to make sure I follow you? Just leave a link to your profile in the comments!
