You can’t get away from it this time of year. Tis the season for the weird, the gory, the scary and the just plain creepy movies to hit your tv screens. There’s smoothing to be said for that feeling you get when you know what your watching isn’t real, but it makes your skin crawl anyway. I’ve handpicked seven of my favorite Horror movies from the Netflix lineup, movies that you need to watch in October, whether you’ve seen them before or not.
Sleepy Hollow – Detective Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of 3 people, with the culprit being the legendary apparition, the Headless Horseman.
The Exorcist – When a teenage girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter.
Children of the Corn – A young couple is trapped in a remote town where a dangerous religious cult of children believe everyone over the age of 18 must be killed.
Pet Sematary – Behind a young family’s home in Maine is a terrible secret that holds the power of life after death. When tragedy strikes, the threat of that power soon becomes undeniable.
Hellraiser – An unfaithful wife encounters the zombie of her dead lover; demons are pursuing him after he escaped their sadomasochistic underworld.
The Omen – Mysterious deaths surround an American ambassador. Could the child that he is raising actually be the anti-christ? The devil’s own son?
Cujo – A friendly St. Bernard named “Cujo” contracts rabies and conducts a reign of terror on a small American town.
Do you have a favorite Horror movie? I’m clearly a Stephen King fan (his books too!). What makes your skin crawl when you’re sitting alone in the dark?
