A special ‘thanks’ to Take Shape for Life for setting me up on my weight loss journey. Take Shape for Life has provided me with a health coach and all of the products/materials I need to evaluate their program and take this journey toward a healthier, much smaller me. All thoughts and opinions will be mine and they will be honest, both the good and the bad.
Big things in the world of Take Shape For Life this week, peeps. First, there are two new Medifast Smoothies out: Pineapple Mango and Triple Berry. I got an awesome surprise yesterday when I came home to a package on the porch containing a box of each. I had no idea they were coming! I tried the Pineapple Mango this morning and LOVED it. It was very frothy and creamy. I may try the Triple Berry this afternoon, but I’m not sure yet.
My girlfriends and I are headed out to see New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. Don’t judge me.
I am feeling better about my appearance, thus I am caring more about how I dress. I don’t know about you, but I can really tell that I feel better about myself when I dress it up a bit. I got my booty into a skirt I bought over 2 years ago and have never worn. I’ve also made my way into some jeans that haven’t seen the light of day in a long time. I’m itching for a shopping trip, but I’m trying to hold off.
I hit a milestone this week thanks to Take Shape For Life. I’ve officially dropped 10% of my starting weight. Also, I’m under my per-pregnancy weight, which is a biggie for me. I decided back when I started my Take Shape For Life journey that I would reward myself at certain points, the 10% point being one of those. I called and made my appointment for highlights this morning. It’s been years since I’ve really invested any money or time in my hair and I think my 10% loss is a great reason to start again.
Take Shape For Life is not a ‘love ’em and leave ’em’ type of program. Even though I’ve got a lot of weight to lose still, I’m already working on the healthy habits that will help me keep the weight off once I reach my goal. I’ve been upping my exercise this week and trying to create a routine for myself that is doable. That’s a big part of the Take Shape For Life plan. I’m so thankful to have a fantastic health coach (Margaret Hartman) to help with do just that. In the last five days, I’ve logged just under 8 miles jogging/walking and an hour of step aerobics. If the weather holds out, tomorrow will be another running day. I’m aiming for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week right now. Eventually I’ll work my way up to a minimum of 45 minutes 6 days a week. Having a job and two small children means I have to be more flexible with myself as far as when I get my exercise in. If I could become a morning person
never going to happen, that would help out greatly.
I can tell that I’m starting to get my energy back. It was missing for several weeks, mostly as a result of the dramatic reduction in my calorie intake. I think actually getting out and moving is helping a lot too. I’d still really love to have a nap. Sadly, that’s a fantasy. My 15 minute cool down in the family room floor is as close as I will get today.
