The Annoying Parts of Weight Loss {Take Shape For Life – Week 14} #TSFL (Sponsored)

A special ‘thanks’ to Take Shape for Life for setting me up on my weight loss journey.  Take Shape for Life has provided me with a health coach and all of the products/materials I need to evaluate their program and take this journey toward a healthier, much smaller me.  While the products/materials are free to me, that will in no way influence my opinion of the program or any of the information I share with you through this journey.  All thoughts and opinions will be mine and they will be honest, good, bad or indifferent.

Losing weight can be annoying.  Gifted horse and all that, I know.  I should be grateful that the jeans I bought a few weeks ago literally feel like they are falling off after having them on for an hour or two.  I should be grateful that my sports bras are too big and need to be replaced.  I should also be grateful that none of the clothes I wore last winter or fall will fit me this year.  I do feel grateful, but I also feel annoyed.  It’s annoying that I can’t just grab something out of my closet and go.  It’s annoying that I have so few things that really fit me.  It’s annoying that I can’t just run out and buy new things because I know that they probably won’t fit right either for more than a few weeks.

It’s annoying, but it’s also amazing.

Last week, I wrote about going off the rails a bit on vacation and what it was like to detox and get back on program.  In all honesty, it sucked.  When you eat junk, your body starts to crave more junk.  Take the junk away… your body gets pretty angry.  The urge to give in and give your body what it wants is pretty overwhelming.  Holding strong, walking away from temptation and keeping up a regular exercise routine not only undid the effects of a week off the rails, but it also netted me a nice little loss of 4.6 pounds.

At this point, I am only 9.6 lbs from my original goal of 145 lbs!

After seeing how well Take Shape For Life works, and how quickly I’ve been able to get where I am, there’s no way I am settling for 145 lbs.  My new goal is a loss of an additional 10 lbs, for a new weight goal of 135 lbs!  I’ve already lost 18 % of my original body weight.  I’m literally 1/5th less the person I was in May and it feels amazing!

So, for a little while longer, I’ll deal with the annoying parts of weight loss.  I’ll deal with the clothes that just don’t fit right, the constant turnover in my closet and in return I get my shrinking waistline.  And hips.  And arms.  And it’s worth it.
