A special ‘thanks’ to Take Shape for Life for setting me up on my weight loss journey. Take Shape for Life has provided me with a health coach and all of the products/materials I need to evaluate their program and take this journey toward a healthier, much smaller me. While the products/materials are free to me, that will in no way influence my opinion of the program or any of the information I share with you through this journey. All thoughts and opinions will be mine and they will be honest, both the good and the bad.
I feel like I’m hitting my stride. Literally and metaphorically. I’ve found a groove with my workout routine, eating on a schedule has become second nature and I’m starting to get lots of ‘have you lost weight?’ comments. —> Happy girl <—
My kids are adjusting well to my new routine, which is great because even after I hit my goal weight and start to transition back to more cooking and whatnot, my overall routine will stay fairly the same. I think a big part of that success is that I am including them where I can in one way or another. Sometimes it’s by rewarding them with something special after (like getting to sword fight on the Wii) and sometimes it’s by letting them go out with me (I run, they bike). I’ve also learned that they are more flexible than I am and shifting dinner back a little so that I can work out as soon as we get home wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought it would be. This is where my husband working late nearly every night since starting his new job has actually come in handy… since he’s coming home later, having dinner later seems to be working for everyone.
Last Friday, the girl went out with me on her bike and we got caught in one heck of a storm. She tucked tail and headed home as soon as the rain started, but I was committed to finishing up my loop… not that you have much of a choice when you’re on foot anyway. We both ended up completely soaked through, but it was ok. I want her to see my commitment to getting and staying healthy. Of the things I hope for her in her life, never struggling with her weight is one of them.
At this point, I’ve tried nearly all of the Medifast foods, so I do owe you guys a list of what’s great and what’s not so hot. I can’t imagine how much harder this would all be without having my Health Coach, Margaret Hartman, to cheer me on. Margaret’s services are a FREE perk of the Take Shape For Life program. I hope that any of you who are struggling with your weight and health will reach out to me or to Margaret to see if Take Shape For Life is something that can help you reach your goals too.
