I can not believe it is almost 2015. I’ve made some major life changes, met some goals, set some new ones and watched my kids grow and change right before my eyes. The little boy who was watching educational cartoons last January has moved on to greener pastures (like streaming Power Rangers on a near constant basis.) My girl has more or less ditched animated shows and has really gotten into watching movies.
Since they are getting older, I’ve decided to let them party the night away with us as *try* to ring in 2015. The idea that I might get either of them to nap late tomorrow afternoon is ludicrous, but what I can get them to do is settle down with a movie (via Netflix streaming) on their Kindles, and at least rest a little. The plan is quiet time until about 8:30 or so, then some sparklers, maybe some fireworks, one of the NYE concerts, say goodbye to 2014 and fall asleep in the living room floor.
Netflix just released a new original series All Hail King Julien (yes, the King Julien from The Penguins of Madagascar), and as part of the release, sent us some cool party supplies that the kids have been dying to dig into. The kids and I loved King Julien, so we’re excited to check out all of the episodes of the new series.
With 2014 coming to a close, and 2015 so close on the horizon, planning is on my mind. What am I planning for 2015? More family movie nights with popcorn and candy, more “date-night-in”s with my boyfriend and more togetherness in general. Are you planning for 2015 too? How are you ringing in the new year and what are you planning for 2015?
